Madame Sweep: For men must work and.. Art Print
Madame Sweep: For men must work and women must sweep might be the slogan of Mrs. Ada Riches, of Woodbridge, Suffolk. She had always swept her own chimneys. Now because of the shortage of men she has become a sweep, and cleans chimneys in Woodbridge and the villages around. Mrs. Riches takes her brushes, rods, and sootbag around on a bicycle. She starts work at 7am, and by noon has cleaned ten chimneys. The head and hair protector, reminiscent of the middle ages, is her own design. Photo shows... here you see Mrs. Ada Riches arriving on the job, sooty, but cheerful. October 1943.
This Madame Sweep: For men must work and.. Art Print is created using state of the art, industry leading Digital printers. The result - a stunning reproduction at an affordable price.
